I actually got tired of flickr. Aside from the fact that, if you're not a premium user, you cannot view more than 200 of your latest photos. You cannot view them all, for short. You have to pay for them. So, I am moving rather maintaining an account in MySpace for the sake of section Saturn and the photos and videos that I want to share. Myspace just upgraded from lousy Myspace to Myspace 2.0.

MySpace is an online community... therefore, it is indeed very similar to friendster, but I think friendster is the "rip-off". I am also planning to create an account on Facebook but I'm too busy having fun. Aside from MySpace's cool frontend look and admin interface, it was the photo uploader that I liked the most. In the first album that I made, I uploaded more than 100 photos. You don't have to compress your photos manually because I think MySpace has a 'built-in' photo compressing method that will make your photos more 'lightweight'. Oh, and you could also create blog posts and use apps/applications in MySpace.

December Video Galore

There were a few happenings that I did not write about in this blog. First is our Classroom Christmas Party, second is our Major/Tech-Voc 3-in-1 (from 2nd year to 4th year) Christmas Party, third is our grand beach outing participated by a lot, i mean sooooo many tradeans (ranging from the 1st year level to 4th year) with more than 40 students per section in 30 class sections.

I recently uploaded a few videos to YouTube, which can be viewed in My Channel related to our Christmas Party. I just captured a few scenes from our bongaceous Classroom Christmas Party Program intermission numbers. Feast your eyes people, and brace yourselves!

Long Long Long Hiatus

Aaaaand I'm back!!! Yep, I swore to maintain this site and I still am alive and kicking. Offline, that is. I've downloaded this software called XAMPP [recommended for wordpress users] which makes the developing, editing and previewing of Wordpress themes 10 thousand times easier (for me, and for everyone else who so loved WP and PHP and MySQL)!

I've been busy making themes for my websites since I'm planning to build my fashion-themed blog-azine (blog slash magazine) featuring many things about the fashion industry and showbiz. It's a bit contrasting though because I never loved the showbiz industry though show business and the fashion industry have been tied together for a long long time. I'm going to reconstruct my other personal blog and a few other random blogs. There's another thing, this blog that I wanted to maintain is all about my passions: movies, music, and everything under the sun. Been looking forward for our project: GSAT webbie. Seriously, this is our 4th grading project.

November 7, 2008: a time when [tradeans] didn't seem to care about anything but the on going 1st Regional STEP Competition held here in Glan. CAT Officers kept on entertaining the guests; guiding them wherever they need to go so that they could familiarize the amenities available in the school. Of course, they kept looking for the Restroom when in fact our school has only 2 pairs of male | female restrooms placed in different locations. I was so freakin' nervous when someone tried to inquire where it was. Anyway, as we were watching/guarding every event of the competition: some were busy assisting the coordinators by providing them whatever it is that they need, some were arranging chairs, some were just trying hard to be watchdogs and paparazzis, there was something different about something.

Suddenly, when i grew tired of being a "paparazzi" acting curious about nearly everything and paused from taking pictures of every event there is, I decided to mingle with my fellow officers. Something was buzzing around in the atmosphere with a negative connotation. Our classmate came and told us everything. It was then when it became crystal clear: my uncle, our former teacher in Physics, just died...

The reason why I'm creating an account on these websites offering free limited video storage (similar to YouTube) is that YouTube starts to annoy me these days. The said company rejected my video-slideshow containing a song entitled Bye Bye by Mariah Carey. They detected that so-called third party content which means they can now detect songs downloaded from the internet illegitimately and then, used it in a video uploaded to their system. It was like "whoa!"; They're like so frickin' pissing me off. They're so not like this secure before. It's impressive yet annoying for some users who wanted their videos to be more "entertaining" with the help of the music industry. I guess the said industry begged to disagree to cooperate with the ever growing community of YouTube. Some music companies didn't care about copyright infringement that was happening within YouTube's premises (even big companies!) but not anymore.

This site which is part of the Yahoo! company is familiar to most of the people wanting to publish their photos and videos online. They are claiming to be the almost certainly the best online photo management and sharing application not only in Asia but in the whole world. I'm talking about Flickr. Yep, Flickr. I created a new account and left the old one and I'm gonna show you photos I've uploaded later on. Meanwhile, to those unfamiliar of this "thing", there are some limitations to those free users of Flickr. Pro accounts usually cost $25. Converting that into PHP would be *sigh* too big of an amount to spend for just pics and vids which is one of the many reasons why I don't like it although I have an account within its database. The username: peenkpositive.

Yep, that's what all of us, tradeans have been waiting for. Although we can't own a [dot]edu[dot]ph domain because it's costly, I am considering the fact that there are some free domains available for use for $0 and am willing to take it. Victorious GSAT

GSAT won as the CHAMPION last year in the Lubi-lubi and Munato Festival. However, it was rumored that GSAT won because NDG did not participate all because of the rumor [that circulated] that it won't be a competition. In other words: no price at stake. It was a fraud, anyway. GSAT won triumphantly last year [garnering all the minor and major awards]. So did they yesterday, Oct. 8, 2008, as the champion of the 9th Lubi-lubi fest along with the best in choreo and music awards. SKPSC won 2nd place and the best in costume award. NDG won 3rd place without any award.

Therefore, I conclude that with or without NDG in the competition, the true champion would still emerge victorious.

It's a double victory for GSAT this year since Althea Louise Escobillo, representing GSAT, was proclaimed the 2008 Mutya ng Glan. Synna Sheen Asperga made it to the Top 5 (also from GSAT, representing the T-Square Builders). Sharmiella Calinawan (Glan Water District), Jay-ann Wong (Ms. Teen Poblacion), and Chequi [not her real name] Abasolo (DingDong Hardware) also came from GSAT although representing different sponsors.

Physics

Well, yesterday was a pretty awful day for all of us because our teacher in Physics will be replaced. It was quite surprising because none of us saw it coming. He, Mr. Amado Librando, will be replaced by Ms. Phoebe Maraon, also a great teacher in Physics.

Yesterday, we were just talking and chit-chatting, roaming around the whole Physics classroom. This is actually what we do when no teacher is around. Then we saw Ma'am Sulla in the Math Clinic, a small part of the Physics classroom. Then after that incident, we started to lower our gaudy and irritating voices and continued what we did best -- to talk a lot. This is how we feast when no teacher is there to teach us. But there was something odd. Sir Madit would always be present from Monday to Friday except for Wednesday. During Wednesdays, he would go out of town to undergo something called a Dialysis. And so we waited for him to arrive yesterday until it was already 2:00 pm (time for our second period). Then, at the stroke of 2:00 pm... he and two other teachers, Ma'am Maraon and Ma'am Sarcon announced that soon he will retire and that from the second day of October 2008 to the end of the school year, our Physics teacher would be Ma'am Maraon. All of a sudden, a few started to cry while others had no reaction. Tomorrow is the day... when we will face a new face of a Physics teacher and she will face new ones as her student.

Saturnians: Getting Ready!

By the stroke of 5:00 pm, when nearly all of the Tradeans left the school building... college students of SKPSC are waiting for their classes to start. We, the Saturnians, were still in the building practicing and memorizing our lines. What for? None other than, for the Division English Festival: Speech Choir.

Most of us in our section are participating in some events other than the Speech Choir competition. Our practice today ended at [what I think is] 6:00 pm.

Off topic: Last last week, I forgot to mention some "happenings" in my blog post on that same day.

The Saturnians have undergone a peace process together with our batch-mates in "the other school". You see, our section and the first section in the other school are not "in good terms". To be more specific, some of us hated some people studying in the school which has always been a rival of our school. Arggghhh!! I'm in a tight spot here -- torn between 'to explain' or 'not to explain'. This is indeed a very important matter that's why I should ask my classmates/friends first before posting it here. If you've been reading this post, watch out for more!

Gildie's Birthday Blast

Today is a very special day. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think Gildie Siasico is celebrating his 15th birthday. Today is the mark of another year to come for one of the brightest minds in section Saturn. Mind you, he won 4th place in the most recent IT competition he joined.

This techno-geek of ours is one of the late-comers in our class yet he still makes our days colorful. Humorous and happy go lucky. Frequently spends a lot of time bragging about how independent he is though he really isn't. Hahaha!! Go gilday! May you color our worlds even more with happiness and joy.

Browser Incompatibility Issues

If you are using IE6 and below to view this page, you might notice that the site looks like crap. Yep. It does look like it. Incompetent Internet Explorer does it again! Hooray to that. On the other hand, Firefox 3.x.x, Opera, and my beloved browser, Google Chrome Beta views it nicely. You might wanna download these awesome browsers other than IE.

Well, since I sympathize with those IE users, no offense, I would dare to re-edit the theme's code so that it would also be compatible with the old versions of Internet Explorer.

Start Anew

Tomorrow is the start of another school week yet it isn't gonna be like the past few weeks. Because of the so-called conflict caused by the MILF and the controversial MOA, our classes begun at 8:00 am and we were dismissed by as early as 3:00 in the afternoon! We've had lotsa free time not to mention the noon break! Woot!!! The what-we-call "hep-hep-hooray schedule" will end on September 15, 2008 only, which is tomorrow. Awww... bummer! Now, we have to wake up [ once again ] earlier than 7:00 am and go home for lunch by 11:40 am. Be back before the first period will start at 1:00 pm and finally be dismissed by 5:00 pm or later. :)

Generalization: Class Schedule have been decompressed for the sake of regaining peace and order, knowledge and wisdom. Peace out!

Saturnians Online Disclosure

Welcome, dear reader! You are definitely reading the initial post of the so-called blogsite of the group or section Saturn, Seniors of the only vocational public school in Glan, Sarangani Province -- Glan School of Arts and Trades.

As I can recall, the most recent event in our school [just today] is the Recognition Day of the school's honor pupils and the giving of class cards and honor cards as well.

I've been busy with a lot of things for tonight for I have made this weblog's skin/theme for a few hours and a tutorial called "Blogger for Dummies" that I had just finished but not yet published.

In case you have been wondering "who am I?", well, I'm proud to say that I'm not yet ready to reveal myself but I can say that I am the web designer of our batch here in GSAT. I am fond of designing websites yet my expertise has been proven online [in the cyber world], here in the real world I find it difficult to prove for I have joined a few contests regarding web design but haven't won any title... yet! [lolz] There was this division/provincial web designing contest last year when [I was web designing for a month] and won 2nd Place and almost made it to the regional competition for some circumstances but it did not happen anyway. That was indeed the time when my friends and I discovered my true potential in web designing, and I love it... a lot!

This year, I joined an IT Challenge: Web Designing Contest and walked out disappointed because of the outdated softwares the organizers used. I'm talking about all of the softwares they installed. I, on the other hand used the most latest versions. The conflict ended when my .fla [flash] file was incompatible with the oldest version of Adobe Flash. Thus, I cannot open and make changes to that file. Several programs that were outdated. I am ranting since I did not expect that to happen since there were no software versions indicated in the guidelines.

Generalization: I was there for a purpose: to let them realize how poor/rich their technology could be. They even let us use old computers with XP Operating Systems when I was expecting Vista. Slow computers were there packed with very minimum RAMs and etc. Their technology did not meet my standards. I -- a fifteen year-old girl who's so hooked on to technology-related stuffs and keeps track of updates buzzing in the web designing industry dreaming to become a freelance web developer and have designed flash-based sites -- am very very disappointed. I could not say that I could have won the contest but I will say I gave them a chance to shine. Heheeee.
